June 17 - International Call in Sick Day

Today in 1812 the eight-hour work day is established in the United States. Today is also Monday, which happens to be the day that the second most amount of people call in sick for work.
So take some time off today. Call in sick, or take the day off.

Try to use the lamest excuse you can like,"My house lock jammed and I'm locked in."

Post your excuses here.

I have called in, telling my boss that I am too well to work today.

I was in a Subway sandwich shop one Sunday evening, about 14 years ago. Two rough-looking guys come in, worse for wear. One says to the other, "Man, I'm hung over. Gotta call in sick tomorrow. You gonna call in sick?"

The other guy responds, "Nah. I've called in sick too many times. I figure I'll have to call in dead."

"Hello Boss. Can't come Today? Why? Mum didn't wake me. I'd be lat anyway. Why she didn't wake me? She watched your team being trounced in football yesterday night! Am fired? Well that means I needn't comestarting today right!?"

I have to admit, I didn't call in sick. I am a work-a-holic! I love work... and can never get myself to call in sick. Even when I am sick..

Maybe that is why half the people at my work are sick right now.
