August 2nd is devoted to Ryan Adams and will certainly go down as highly popular here at International ___ Day as a cultural phenomenon (second only to International Pirates for Picard Day). What is it about Mr. Adams that can make one forget about river midgets, mean boyfriends, and crappy Dead tribute bands?
It is not the chain-smoking aroma that permeates 500 m from his person. (at least for me)
It is not necessarily his devotion to oral hygiene.
It is his heart-felt songs.
It is his prolific nature. (makes one wonder)
It is those gorgeous blue eye.
It is his unwavering vision of who he is as an artist.
And, Sea Hag digs him. That should be reason enough.

Wow, I was VERY close to declaring my own Ryan Adams Day this month. I am all about the tortured genius types.
I have to admit, he writes some darn pretty lyrics.
